A spacious and comfortable 4 double bedroomed house, this is a holiday home where you can come in and immediately feel relaxed, curl up on the sofa or stretch out and put your feet on the coffee table if you choose, the views are spectacular and there’s a lot to explore locally.
The house sleeps 8 with 2 king sized zip and link beds allowing various combinations, well behaved dogs are welcome downstairs only but bear in mind that the garden is not secure and there is a steep bank behind the house.
One of the nicest things about staying here is the abundant wildlife. There’s a family of roe who wander through the garden most mornings usually whilst we’re drinking coffee in bed, red deer are frequently seen just beyond the boundary at the rear, friends of ours have red squirrels and pine martens in their garden just down the road so we’re hopeful that one day we’ll see them too. Please feel free to top up the bird feeders outside the kitchen window from the spare bird food in the boot room.
Garelochhead is a busy little village with a pub, two local shops, a post office, 2 cafes, a couple of takeaway outlets and a church all within walking distance of the house. Turning right out of the drive will take you to the village of Kilcreggan and a foot ferry to Gourock 15 minutes away by car.
The Arrochar Alps are only 20 minutes drive away as is Loch Lomond and the village of Luss. Glasgow Airport is just 45 minutes drive away. A bus runs from outside the house to the local town of Helensburgh although there’s 2 hours free parking in the centre of town if needed.
Helensburgh Life is a great source of local information.
